Visiting The Enochian Aethyrs: An Advanced Course in Enochian Magic

Introduction

This course brought to you by Phillip Harris-Smith aims to provide a safe environment for students to work through the Enochian Aethyrs. Phillip, also being experienced in Franz Bardon’s method, will be aligning the Bardon steps with the Aethyrs. He feels there is great benefit to be had for a Bardon student, but this is reliant upon their being stability in the student’s life and the guidance of someone who has previously travelled to all of the Aethyrs.

We thought long and hard about offering this course as Phillip has seen firsthand the results of this kind of work on the unprepared. So, this course will have some questions to answer prior to admittance as we want this to benefit people rather than uproot their lives and cause chaos.

He has seen the results of the unprepared tackling this path and does not want to see anyone having to experience that. If you have any doubts then there is no rush, continue your current work and come back to this in a year or two.

Course Overview

Objectives: Understand historical context of Enochian magic and that exploration the 30 Enochian Aethyrs is the primary purpose.

John Dee (1527-1608/9) offered many heartfelt prayers to God that he might be able to speak with God’s Angels, here is the often quoted statement from Dee:

I have often read in thy (Gods) books and records, how Enoch injoyed thy favour and conversation; with Moses thou was familiar; And also that to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, Joshua, Gideon, Esdras, Daniel, Tobias and sundry others thy good angels were sent by thy disposition to Instruct them, informe them, helpe them, yea in worldly and domestics affaires, yea and sometymes to satisfie their desires, and questions of thy Secrete. And furdermore considering, the shewstone, which the High Prieste did use, by thy owne ordering… that this wisdome could not be come by at mans hand or by humane power, but only from thee (o God).”

‘Probably’ using the Grimoire Liber Juratus which may have been written by Pope Honorius I, Dee employed various seers and eventually selecting Edward Kelly as his established seer. Dee received from the Angels via Edward Kelly instructions to make equipment and accompanying procedures. This became the Enochian grimoire De Heptarchia Mystica (On The Mystical Rule Of The Seven Planets). The cedarwood table, the various copies of De Sigilum Dei Aemeth (Seal of Truth) inscribed in beeswax, various prayers etc. De Heptarchia Mystica constituted a grimoire ‘technology’ by which the Enochian Angels were able to transmit to Kelly (the seer) and Dee (the scribe) the language of the Angels, Enochian… and the overall Enochian magical system. Some of Dee’s manuscripts were lost but we have enough to work with.

Both in England and whilst staying in other parts of Europe, Dee and Kelly received details of the Enochian language and magical system from the Angels, Liber Loagaeth followed by the watchtowers and 30 Aethyrs. This Enochian material was received during what Dee referred to as ‘actions’. The seer Kelly verbally describing what he saw and heard in the shewstone and the scribe Dee making a written record. Dee and Kelley provided us with the Enochian language and a large body of Enochian material. This course will focus on the 30 Aethyrs but I do recommend general reading both in theory and practice of books on Enochian magic. In this course the hermeticist will develop the specific skills required to explore the 30 Aethyrs rather than drawing Angels to appear visibly in a shewstone. As mentioned De Heptarchia Mystica is a ‘grimoire’ which enables a person to communicate with Angels appearing visibly in a shewstone, obviously the hermeticist may if they wish choose to employ De Heptarchia Mystica or investigate various Enochian praxis associated with Liber Loagaeth aside from what is available here. This course focusses on exploration of the 30 Enochian Aethyrs or Aires.

The exploration of the Enochian Aethyrs is often treated as a ‘bolt on’ within various magical systems and groups/orders. This approach is well established and has now been in effect for over 100 years. Various partially successful attempts at classifying the Enochian Aethyrs within the context of a particular group/order’s magical system and taxonomy have been attempted. Sometimes other parts of the Enochian corpus whilst not excluded can be treated as supplemental within other magical systems. The sequence of progress within Enochian Magic itself is; De Heptarchia Mystica, Liber Logaeth and then Aethyrs with watchtowers. Exponents of other magical systems I think therefore are inclined to ‘cherry pick’ the later Enochian material, the 30 Aethyrs and the elemental watchtowers. In some instances this has led to the whole of Enochian magic being discouraged or even banned due to mishaps experienced by some in the organization that had pursued Enochian with a tragic outcome. Because Franz Bardon provided us with three universal hermetic keys, using these keys there is no restriction on what parts of Enochian magic may be explored. However whilst the later Enochian material provides a greater opportunity for spiritual progress it must be admitted there is also greater risk as has been found by individuals and magical orders over the last century.

The basic method of entering the Enochian Aethyrs is well known and will be clearly outlined. The raison d’etre for this course is to provide feed-back to hermeticisits who have visited one of the Enochian Aethyrs. To help them understand whether or not they have achieved the ordeal of that specific Aethyr, whether more work is required or if the Aethyr has been completed. Also if they have completed a specific Aethyr what kind of preparatory work might be useful before entering the next Aethyr.

  • Understanding the Enochian language and its significance

Practical Skills Development:

  • Techniques for exploring the Aethyrs without physical equipment (e.g., shewstone)
  • Methods for safely navigating altered states of consciousness

Systematic Exploration of the 30 Aethyrs:

  • Guided approach to each Aethyr
  • Analysis and interpretation of experiences

Integration and Feedback:

  • Personalized feedback on Aethyr explorations, based on your written journal entry
  • Guidance on determining completion of each Aethyr
  • Preparation strategies for subsequent Aethyrs

Important Considerations

  • This course focuses specifically on the 30 Aethyrs and does not cover the full scope of Enochian magic.
  • The exploration of Enochian Aethyrs carries potential risks and requires a stable mindset and dedicated practice.
  • While based on historical materials, our approach adapts the practice for contemporary practitioners.
  • Memorization of the ‘call’ to the Aethyrs is a requirement as some Aethyrs require the reciting while out of body. This process alone can take months and is a requirement prior to payment and admission to the course. We do not want you to pay and then spend several months memorizinf the call, much better you do this on your own time.

This advanced program is designed for serious students of hermetic arts who:

  • Have a solid foundation in magical practices – Step 3 of Franz Bardons Initiaion into Hermetics or equivalent level of development. This means ability to concentrate, visualise and have emotions under control
  • Emotionally stable and prepared for intense spiritual experiences
  • Can commit significant time to study, practice, and reflection – this will be a multiyear endeavor
  • Willing to listen to the guidance of Phillip Harris-Smith and understand any request to go slow or to repeat an Aethyr is coming from a place of care and concern for the student
  • You should have memorized the call – provided below

Application Process

Due to the intense nature of this work, all prospective students will be required to complete a short QnA form to ensure that student expectation and course content are a good match.

Prior to payment and beginning the course the ‘Call’ to the Aethyrs should be memorized – there is some flexibility on this but the majority of the call should be committed to memory.

For transparency the cost per 7 Aethyrs will be 99USD – this includes ongoing personal guidance. It is very much a doing course. So, if you are expecting lots of videos to view then this is not going to be of interest, the payment is there to ensure Phillips time is being valued as he will be reading your reports on the Aethyrs and he will be responding in text and via live calls – he is taking this very seriously.
